Maybe I chose the wrong one
:///////////////////// well all right
I think it was just because you showed that quadruped Pokemon can stand on their hind legs and it’s a-okay (when it makes sense) so people decided to do what they originally wanted, maybe?
what bothers me is i am seeing people who place the exact same number of fluffs in the exact same positions with the exact same eyes and even down to ear tips and the paw tips
i have seen this
there are plenty of other ways to stylize the fluffs without just copying something i eventually decided looked cool for lexy and set him apart from the others
As regrettable as it is, Doyle probably falls under this category.
When I first created him (somewhere around the time the mission 5 epilogue had come out) I tried to make him look different from Lexy’s design back then. Lexy (noticeably) had a big influence on his creation.
I had hoped that his head and neck fluff (which I attempted to make look whispy and windswept -back in June-) would have been distinguishing enough for people to be able to differentiate him from Lexy. This is why I gave him eyebrows, spikey hair, and eyes with small pupils. I also tried to have his eyes slant downwards towards the center to give him a meaner sort of look while Lexy’s tended looked bored.. This was the mindset I had back then but I can see why these features wouldn’t be so special when it was so obvious that his body type looks almost the same as Lexy’s.
I did base Doyle’s eevee body on Lexy because I thought that was how a standing eevee was supposed to look. PK had set my standards for that. I had never seen a standing Eevee before then and assumed that her design was the only way to draw it, since Eevees have small feet that aren’t very long compared to any of its evolutions. I wish I had actually brained stormed a little longer back then for this. I hope their differences will be more apparent once he evolves.
